Coast Guard Salem Air Station Memorabilia


The collection consists of a commemorative patch modeled after the last version of the air stations patch, a lapel ot hat pin from the 1960's and three matchbooks one from the 1950's or 60's and the larger of the two from world war II

These pins are from World War I. The top row are Welcome Home buttons for the 26th Yankee Division. The first one has a replica bullet suspended from a ribbon. the second has a ribbon showing the colors of the French Flag. The bottom row consists of a button from Lynn Massachusetts second war chest drive, second is a Victory penny last is form Salem's Knights of Columbus War Fund

This is Walter W. Annable's Medal for World War Service given by the City of Salem, Massachusetts.

Ernest Lapham

This is a Photography Archive of Sailor and Salem Native Ernest Lapham. Ernest served post WWII.


 

Edward F. Moran

Tech Sergeant 5th class Edward F. Moran of Salem, Massachusetts served in the US Army in the 622nd MP Co. APO 958 San Francisco, California. He served as a clerk and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal.


 

J. Michael Plecinoga

J. Michael Plecinoga served in the US Navy  from 1956 through the 1960's. The only bit about his service I know is that he was in Iceland. The collection includes: Photography Archive, 1956 copy of The Compass (Book from Boot Camp at Bainbridge, MD), Naval Dog tag, Enlistment Papers, and two Duffel Bags Named.

Peter Plecinoga AMH3 Served in US Navy in the 102nd Strike Fighter Squadron. Hew served in the 1960's aboard the USS Enterprise CVAN-65, USS Forrestal CVA-59 and USS Independence CV-62. The collection consists of Naval records, 1960 Edition of the Keel (Book from Boot camp in Great lakes Illinois.), Laundry Bag, Private Purchase fighting knife by Camullis, Discharge Papers, Patch collection and Photography Archive.


 

Joseph F. Stankiewicz

Tech Sergeant 4th class Joseph F. Stankiewicz of Salem, Massachusetts served in the US Army in the Headquarters and Service Company 331st Engineer Construction Battalion. He served as a cook. The collection includes his Medals: Good Conduct, Asiatic-Pacific, American Theater and WWII Victory.  A photography archive including few shots of Joseph.  A Next of Kin Style Dog Tag, private purchase rosary beads he carried with him one Tech 4 Chevron, paperwork and Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 55 cap.

This collection was purchased from a yard sale in Salem.


John S. Cappuccio

John S Cappuccio, served in the US Navy during World War II aboard the USS Baldwin.
This uniform is complete with pants. There are embroidered name tags in both. There are liberty cuffs and under the collar has "Shanghai China 1945". The Uniform has been modified for use with the Sea Scouts troop 44 from Salem, Mass and has a House of Seven Gables Patch on one shoulder


Leo LeBlanc

Leo H. LeBlanc was the Post Commander of VFW Witch City Post 1524. This is a collection of his VFW Memorabilia.
The Grouping consists of his Post Commander 1976 - 77 cap, All-State Team 1976-77 Post Commander cap, National Aide-De-Camp 1977 Cap, Plain post 1524 cap which are all chock full of VFW pins. Two Medals: Past post commander and state color guard. There are two neck tie pieces one has the VFW emblem and the other is from the military order of the cootie. Also there are several name tags loose pins and an unused decal.


 

 

 

Veteran's Organizations Memorabilia


The Polish Legion of American Veterans collection consists of Joseph Stankiewicz's blue cap, a Drum and Bugle corps cap, an ashtray, key card and 50th Anniversary Magnet.

 

 

 

 

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (Patches)


These are Patches from the 26th Infantry Division of the Unite States National Guard. The top row date from the 1920's to the 1930's. The bottom row are from World War II onward.
